About:

Angela Meijer is a mixed-media artist based in Lake Country, Wisconsin. She works fluidly between photography, collage, and expressive color, creating layered pieces rooted in memory, gesture, and light.

There is always something personal at the heart of her work. Each piece begins as a response, an image, a feeling, a moment, and is built slowly through layering, revision, and intuition until it feels alive.

Angela studied fine art photography in the Netherlands, earning her BFA in 1997. Her early work appeared in limited-edition books and installations. After becoming a mother, she shifted toward painting, drawn to the freedom of abstraction and the emotional force of color.

Today, photography and painting exist in dialogue within her work. Images are not fixed, but continually transformed, obscured, revealed, and reimagined through layers. Faces and forms move in and out of view, echoing the way memory itself shifts over time.

Lyrical and intuitive, her work explores how light and color shape perception. Each piece becomes a quiet conversation between what is seen and what is felt, an unfolding space where something remembered meets something new.
